This was brought up briefly in a thread in yesterday's meme.

So what I want to know is:

What are your Daddy/Mommy/Parental issues?

They split up when I was little. My mom died when I was 13. Cancer.

My dad's on his fourth or fifth wife. I check in every so often to make sure he's still breathing. He is and he usually has useless advice for me.
