My father is the king of all werewolves in North America, and I'm his second-in-command, even though I really just want to be left alone. My grandmother was an evil witch who killed my mother and had my father and I changed into werewolves (a horrifically painful process that could have killed us both), then enslaved us to serve her until my father broke her spell and killed her, driving himself mad in the process and becoming the original Big Bad Wolf. I then had to bring him back to sanity, since as his son I was the only thing he wouldn't kill. I can't stand my stepmother, but neither can anyone else, including my father, really--although no one is allowed to say a word against her, since she is the Marrok's mate. And my half-brother's mother, who died having him, was the only woman my father has ever actually loved, including my mother.
Additionally, all of my children are dead.
None of this will ever get close enough to the surface for most people to guess at it. But is it any wonder I was considering suicide for a little while there as a viable means of catching a break?
