It was not a hugely great summer. I killed someone without meaning to, spent some time in a vampire's body, and have to leave soon.

On the good side, I had a good job and I had my girlfriend. I guess things could be worse but I'd prefer to stay here in this nice little cocoon of an island. Bad things don't happen nearly as much.

You didn't kill the person while you were in the vampire's body? I hear that's what most of them do.

Maybe you'll find a cocoon like this somewhere in the larger world?

Well, I'm sure I did but no, this was purely me and my awful power. He was killed in front of me, touched me, I brought him back to life and then ran. Because I did that, something else had to die in that person's place.
