I don't understand why your people delay sex so long, given the risk of the Virgin Night. I'm not one for whoring out children, but it seems like a risk like that is better dealt with early for sheer piece of mind.

I think it's because a Virgin Night is more than just a physical act. It's a big step and one has to be just as emotionally and mentally prepared as physically. Added to that, the Blood mature physically at a slower rate than landens and darker Jeweled Blood mature slower still. There's a reason I'm built more like a thirteen year old. I probably wouldn't even be interested in sex yet if I hadn't come here.

Of course, I think my feelings on the matter would be different if I didn't come from...what I left behind.
