It is BDE eve and I am bored, so it feels like time for Therapy.

Everything I was ever afraid of happened when I was eight years old. Now the only thing that keeps me up at nights is a thirst for vengeance against crime.

Luck would have been the gun misfiring. Luck would have been not finding our way in front of the mugger at all. Luck would be having fear today and - if the fears were bad enough - hearing my mother's gentle voice telling me that it was going to be okay.

There's nothing lucky about what I am today. Not even almost.
