I wish I was secure enough in myself to show my face to the world and not care if they called me a freak.

I could, but then I might become a monster instead of just a freak. I'm a chicken with a piggy face. Woe.

No, but I really don't think anything would phase me at this point.

I'd probably do a double-take if you didn't explain first. But it wouldn't bother me or anything.

I realize my fears are deeply rooted and possibly my own. But after dealing with several suitors feeling in rapt horror at the sight of my face, well, it does something to a person, you know?

No one here notices or cares. It's been two years. But I do.

I'm afraid that I will always notice what I am, even if there ever comes a day when people can look at me without the scarf, and smile.

My pupils are spirals. The first person to notice it, here, thought it was beautiful, which ... almost made me cry.

Back home, it means I'm an Al Bhed. A filthy grease-monkey. A heathen.

I keep waiting for someone to see my pupils and pull back, horrified. To yell at me for not telling them I was one of those people. It doesn't happen here.

I think ... if you took your scarf off, you would get questions. Genuine curiosity, not mean or cruel ones. I think everyone here was once The Strange One, The Freak, or The Weirdo.

I think maybe Fandom is exactly where you're supposed to be.
