But I do just wish to be good, though, yes, I would not be able to make a living defying my father. I could never charge for healing, however.

Why not charge for it? It's something people want and can't do themselves. And, as you said, there's not a living in defying one's parents.

Healing is my gift, and one I will always give freely to all those who need it. It costs me nothing to do, and I feel to require payment would taint it.

It does not stay with me yet. My own discomfort is meaningless compared to what I can do for others.

It's not a matter of 'need.' You do the work of the Court, you get a fair wage. If you want to give those goldmarks away to anyone you meet, that's fine, but it's a matter of pride, darling. My Court takes care of its own.

Well, as long as you understand that I would never require payment to protect you with my gifts. I have little need for gold or money, so I would give it away to those who do need it.
