Why are you turning white?

You wake up on Christmas Day, and there are presents under the tree. And in your stocking. And if you're really little and your parents think you're dumb, there's presents from Santa.

And you have to give people presents too.

Yeah, there's that last bit.... So what exactly would be an appropriate gift for someone? And what if it's someone that keeps giving you stuff and there's all this emo where this might be your only Christmas together and you have no clue?

Depends on the relationship. If they're your dad, you get them ties and golf clubs and nice Italian shoes. If they're your friend, you get them gift certificates to Bergdorf's of if they're one of the million people you promised a pony. If they're a boyfriend, that gets trickier. You're supposed to get them something they'd like, but wouldn't get for themselves.

I never really got that part.

You could always *ask* him what he wants, but most of America would tell you you're supposed to read his mind and get him the perfect gift.

At least he's supposed to do the same thing in return. What do *you* want for Christmas?

Somehow I doubt he'd actually tell me. Besides, the perfect gift would probably be for the emo to go away but that plot's not happening yet.
