state of the characters!

In an effort to keep similar things together, I've moved our state of the characters post to the therapy comm since we do an IC version of this every once in awhile and I thought keeping the OOC version here might make more sense. Of course, the therapy comm will remain your haven for all those therapeutic posts you need to make, this is just me moving this particular update here since it's not really a meme but it's not really IC either. All memes will still take place in the OOC comm, of course!

Anyway, I'm sure you all know how this works (and here's our last one) but, if you don't, it's basically a post to give the game at large an update or a summary of what's going on with each of your characters. Romances, classes, upcoming plots, things you might want to do with them in the future, crushes, people you want to thread with, etc.

Feel free to include general end of summer thoughts, plots that came together, and development that occurred over the entire course of the long, hot summer. For the newbies, feel free to describe the first few days and maybe outline what you're hoping to do! And, the familiar example:

Umbridge: Sometimes, it's hard for me to play her because she's so intensive and tiring. But, she's having fun hexing students and pissing off teachers. I'm enjoying her games of give and take with Anakin and Wade, particularly. I'd love to see her thread more with Roy. She'll be leaving soon but not before a big explosive ending.

It doesn't have to be exactly like that but that's basically the gist. Feel free to reply to each other if you have thread ideas or even plot ideas. So, go forth and share!

* Still struggling to deal with her own emotions. It's much easier for her to help others with theirs instead.
* Accidentally outed herself as a demon to Sam and he didn't try to kill her. \o/ Oddly, she feels a certain kinship with Sam. I wonder why....
* Forgave Chuck for stealing her virtue but doesn't trust him anymore. Sad.
* Has seriously glomed on to Jono and wants to try to heal him. This could get messy. She's going to have to learn she can't heal everything.
* Is in the process of gloming on to Nick as well because of his issues and won't that end well.

I'd also love to have her develop a real relationship with someone who won't just love her and leave her! ;)


Drake:
* Just got here, freely admitting he's a demon, though he hasn't told anyone about his one year expiration date yet.
* Waiting for someone to figure out he's from the Charmedverse. If no one does before the cultural fair, someone surely will then.
* Oh, Homecoming is going to be fuuuuuuuun. :D

- Tooootally lying about being Perfectly Okay Really about her mission stuff, and having issues with nice restful sleep because of it.
- Is terribly confused because she's conflicted about the above but--not the way she's 'supposed' to be.
- Is mostly suppressing and being ridiculous instead. It's easier on her!
- ...if not really healthy.
- So, I guess she's happy on the surface, and dealing with other stuff underneath? And needs to meet more people! Always that one.
- And maybe do something with mind powers. Hm.

Hinata:
- Is content and pretty happy to escape notice.
- This is sort of a problem for me, yes.
- Needs to get out more, and knows it, but still isn't enthused about it.
- Realizes that this is kind of sad.

Karla--

Oh, Karla. She remains a blast to play. I keep throwing her into situations then sitting back and figuring out how she's going to react. The gender-swap day broke her brain and had me in stitches. There's just been so much for her to do!

She's still coping with that happened in the other world, both the good and the bad. Right now, she's worried sick that she may have jeopardized her friendship with Ender, but also still giddy from the performance last night. She's trying to get over her crush on Ben (with varying amounts of success) and is slowly starting to collect a real First Circle (even if most of those people won't come back to Kaeleer with her). We got through all of the canon available at that point (there's a two-year gap, though I'll probably move the timeline up because I want Arthur around for the unicorn slaughter) and right now, I'm having Karla experiment with what it's like to be a 15 year old girl, not a Queen, not a Healer, not a Black Widow. I mean, she still does those things, of course, but she's slooooowly starting to learn that they don't define her as a person.

Future: In addition to moving up canon plot, I have a few ideas percolating in the back of my head. I want to organize a visit for her friends to go to Kaeleer (no, not Glacia!), I want her to learn more with Ghanima, and I have a few ideas about having some nasties sent to the island to find her, but that's a while in the future.

- has a wee bairn, who Anakin takes care of when she's at class, and she takes care of when he's teaching, and it's PERFECT.

Kaylee:
- misses Ned like crazy.

- has Strange Feelings about Cor, after this summer.

- has gotten progressively nicer, though is still bitchy about certain things.

Sookie:
- is starting to kind of love how many telepaths there are here.
- not to mention people who can block her without putting any real effort forth.
- is getting better at keeping her shields up as often as possible, omg.
- has a crush, aww.
- is SO GLAD her brother's here, but at the same time worried about him.
- likes that her new roommate is a girl, but see above vis a vis Jason.

Kelly:
- is like, omg, so happy to be here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
- THERE ARE LIKE SO MANY CUTE BOYS HERE.

- okay so like, Kelly isn't sure how she feels about the whole boy/girl living together situation, because while it's like, totally adorable for couples, like, what if he does something gross? Or like, what if he sees her naked and is like "Ew"? Like, clearly he'd have to be delusional or like, whatever, for that to happen, but what if it did and it was like, awkward for the whole time? Like, it would be a real problem, like in that one movie, where the boy and the girl like, hate each other at first, but then they're like, completely adorbs by the end? Remus:

Hahahahaha, right now I'm having a blast, and she's... rather horrified that I put her through the play. Oops? But she's a good sport and bounces back quick and really it was embarrassing but not harmful so she bounces back even quicker.

...while she eyes the other's who think she should try out for the next play.

At the moment I'm just trying to get her out and about more, and making stronger connections. She's a bit of a social butterfly, so even though she's been around for the summer, she hasn't got a 'BFF' or anything yet. Except, maybe, Turtle who gets that status for being Best Roomie Ever.

No plans for her at all, at the moment!

- Was the best last-minute application inspiration I have ever had.
- Is still trying to get her head around how there are worlds where the Endless don't exist -- let alone one where another personification of death dated Deadpool.
- Is tickled pink by life, seriously. Life has sugar and music and air and cute boys! If you let her, she'll get perky goth all over you.
- Is wondering how seriously she needs to take the "it is not given to mortals to love the Endless" thing, given her current situation. (See above, re: cute boys.)
- Thinks Jaime kicks ass as a roommate, even if he does talk to himself.
- Isn't quite sure how or when she's going home. Is okay with that.

Firekeeper and Blind Seer

Just got back from an adventure/hunt in their world that ended with them discovering an island full of magical gates, conquering said island, and then coming down with a magical plague. So they're a little wrung out from that still, not to mention feeling slightly guilty about friends from Fandom being dragged along- though both Firekeeper and Blind Seer appreciate the help said friends gave.

Blind Seer, especially, is more than a little troubled about this "plague" thing because up until then there was never any indication that there was anything magical about him. He's trying not to think about it. Or the state of his poor coat after shedding most of it while fever-ridden.

Also there's this thing where Firekeeper now owes a certain meddling deity a favor.

Kennedy needs a muzzle, I swear to God. She's only been in game for a few days but I'm having such a blast with her, even if she won't stop hitting on girls. I love her interaction with Worf already. She had the best newbie picnic ever, for serious. Two days in Fandom and she'd already come up with about four different ways to annoy the hell out of her Watcher from a distance? I love it. I have no huge plans for her other than a few people I think she absolutely has to meet (and kind of want her to meet Codex just for the meta amusement factor).

That may change. We'll see. For now, I'm just enjoying the hell out of getting her settled in, seeing how she can get on characters' nerves, and really, really hoping I'm not irritating people as players in the process.

Now if only I could get off my ass and make more icons. Curse you, season 7 and your dark lighting! And BtVS fandom for not liking her enough to make icons.

Angela: Things are actually going really quite smoothly for her. She's got easy classes (and only two of them a week), a great boyfriend, and aside from a week or so as a red panda she's had a pretty quiet second summer term.

She did lose her best friend off the island last week, and is going to miss having Peyton around a loooot. This being Angela, she probably won't let it show (crazy little positive thinker).

Otherwise, I don't really plan with her, but she does need to get out a little more. I've been lazy lately.

Hannibal is completely content. That's not surprising since he's a chill character to play and I love that since he contrasts nicely to my other characters. His biggest accomplishment lately is pushing his and Angela's beds together in the room to make one big bed. Huzzah! No more small beds!

Anyway, I don't really ever make plans for him because he's so go with the flow and that works. He and Angela are coming up on six months together and he's not freaking out! Amazing!

Maybe I'll just have him get mostly naked or something. He's just fun to play whenever I want to play. He can work against anyone or anywhere.

He has no idea that there's so many things associated with a wedding despite having studied like EVERYTHING there is to know.

So apparently it's, like, impossible to play Priestly emo for more than a post. I'm trying! What I should do is get him out and about for more than just his scheduled duties. He hasn't been in a common room in forever.

Tybalt:
* Is still a bitch. This will never change.
* And he's still bound and determined to get into Jean's pants. Silly boy.
* On the upside, he is slowly starting to pick up on a slightly more modern tongue, which will save my brain from great liquid agony down the road, and which also means that he'll probably start getting out more soon enough.

Algren:
* He's a freaking Samurai, okay. He's a Samurai who still has a couple of months of healing time ahead of him, but he's a Samurai anyhow. Considering the movie he came from is The Last Samurai, this is no surprise. But after having played him as bitterbitterbitter Captain Algren for so long, this change is fresh and new and really weird.
* I am also looking forward to this semester's Sex Thru The Ages course with Kirk. If only because somebody's brain is going to break come the end of the class, and Algren is hell-bent on it not being his.
* He's added "Leapair" to his mental list of words that can make him crack the hell up with no effort at all.

Reno:
* Is growing beans, guys. This is omg huge news and stuff.
* Oh, plus he's still a twit who thinks he's all that and then gets in trouble with the boss.
* And he misses his Rookies.

- Is liking being in Fandom.
- ...Even if she does have some issues she doesn’t want to deal with.
- Loves pretty much all the new kids she’s talked to.
- Loves not being a new kid even more.
- Is taking joy in explaining her world/’00s things/Fandom to people who don’t know them, because it makes her feel like she’s useful and that she knows stuff that other people don’t.
- Likes Leto. She’s not really thinking about what’s going on between them too much, partly because that might lead to dealing with some of her issues, and she’d rather just enjoy being around him.
- Is interested in other people, too.
- Will probably demand Tybalt to take her out on a romantic date after his comments on the radio. (No, she doesn’t believe Tybalt can actually do romantic.)

The future: At some point in the future, I’m planning on having something push her far enough to actually make her run away from the island for a weekend, to take a roadtrip or something. If you have a character she could spontanely drag off to see Baltimore or whatever, let me know! (Rich kids? I would not be opposed to her being whisked away to Europe for the weekend. After all, all she wants to do is get the hell away from Fandom for a while.)

Other than that, I have no specific plans for her, just developing relationships further and meeting new people and going with whatever happens.

Summer:
- is a new arrival and trying to wrap her head around some of the things she's heard
- is excited to be teaching; also kind of nervous but that's a SECRET
- is still getting her bearings and will be getting out more, I promise!

... I don't have anything big planned for her as she just got here, but I might work in some of Summer's canon if I find anything good to use.

- Is kind of weirdly disappointed to be back in Fandom, because at least Firekeeper's world made some sense
